“Redefining services” by utilizing data

As a result of the dramatic evolution of technology and the ability to collect and analyze data that has never existed before, the shape of our business has begun to change dramatically.

In the manufacturing industry, the shift from the business of supplying goods to the “service industry” that provides user experience has begun, and in the retail industry, the behavior of non-purchasers and the daily lives of customers have begun to be grasped, and decision-making has begun. The grounds for this have changed significantly. Furthermore, in the financial industry, it is said that unbundling and rebundling of financial services will be promoted by new entrants from different industries.

What should companies consider and what actions should be taken while “products and services are being redefined” by utilizing data in this way?

At this forum, lectures will be given on three tracks: “Distribution / Retail”, “Manufacturing”, and “Finance”. Invited nine companies that lead the business with advanced initiatives to the editorial department session. Through such cases, we will provide visitors with an opportunity to reconsider their management strategies.

Here, I will focus on the “financial industry” track and introduce some of the lectures.

In recent years, various types of money have appeared, such as new cashless payments, international remittance services, and pseudo-money points. There are also new movements around money systems such as stablecoin and central bank digital money.

In the lecture entitled “Money Reconsideration: Structural Changes in Payment Systems Brought by Neo-Money,” we will attempt to take a bird’s-eye view of these trends from the perspective of payment system structures. Data utilization is actually technology-driven. On the other hand, services are convenience-driven. We will talk about how to take advantage of the increasing amount of data in the future without neglecting the approach to both.
